In a shocking incident, Jalalpur police in Lodhran district have arrested a man, Ahmed, accused of murdering his cousin’s three-year-old son, allegedly to avenge a personal insult. The young victim, Abu Huraira, went missing five days prior from his home in Basti Mahawala near village Noraja Bhutta. When family searches failed, the boy’s father, Hafeez, filed a missing person report, prompting an official investigation that led police to Ahmed.

Police claim that Ahmed admitted to the crime during interrogation, stating that he killed the toddler as revenge after being called “mad” by the child’s father, Hafeez. Authorities allege Ahmed beheaded the child and concealed the body in a sack, intending to bury it in nearby fields.

Shocking Motive Revealed in Confession

Following the discovery of Abu Huraira’s body, investigators focused on family members as potential suspects. Ahmed, the child’s cousin, was taken into custody for questioning, during which police report he confessed to the crime, citing personal grievances with Hafeez as his motive. In Ahmed’s statement, he alleged that he had endured repeated insults and, ultimately, sought revenge against Hafeez by killing his son.

The brutal nature of the crime has deeply unsettled residents in the village of Noraja Bhutta, highlighting tensions around mental health stigma and familial conflicts.

In a separate incident, authorities in district Vehari are investigating the mysterious death of a seminary student, Tahzeeb, found shot dead outside his school in Chak 245/EB, Burewala. Discovered near Al-Syed Housing Colony, Tahzeeb’s body was sent to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination as police begin their probe into the circumstances leading to his death.

Basti Malook Police Solve Double Homicide in Lodhran

In another case in Lodhran, Basti Malook police announced the arrest of three suspects in the murder of a couple, identified as Amir and Sajida, shot dead on October 18. Family sources indicate the killings may have been motivated by unresolved marital arrangements involving the suspects and the victims’ daughter. The primary suspect, Younus, reportedly disclosed that the couple’s hesitance to finalize his marriage with their daughter prompted him to commit the crime, assisted by two accomplices.
