On Monday, during a Kisan Cards distribution ceremony in Hafizabad, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz revealed a series of significant initiatives designed to support farmers in Punjab. These projects, valued at Rs400 billion, aim to improve agricultural productivity and farmer welfare in the region.
Key Announcements:
- Kisan Cards: For the first time, Kisan Cards worth Rs150 billion have been issued, increasing the number from 500,000 to 750,000.
- Free Equipment: Farmers cultivating between 12.5 to 25 acres will receive free laser levelers, while those with more than 25 acres will get free tractors.
- Affordable Agricultural Machinery: Farmers can rent agricultural machinery at no profit to the government.
- Expanded Distribution: The number of Kisan Card dealers will increase to 3,000 to ensure better access.

In her speech, Chief Minister Nawaz emphasized the rising trend in agriculture and wheat cultivation. She acknowledged the challenges posed by high electricity costs and expressed her commitment to ensuring that bread and flour remain affordable for consumers while securing profits for farmers.
